Our combined experience brings over 60 years to the Hampton Roads area.

Gordon E. Parker, Jr.

Gordon's clients are high net worth business owners of closely held corporations, family businesses. Gordon helps ensure that their goals and objectives as they relate to their estate, retirement and business succession plans are accomplished in a coordinated approach. He does this through a continual process of fact finding, designing, implementation and monitoring results.

As a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads, Gordon's roots are in Suffolk, Virginia where his Great Grandfather Bauldie Parker, owned and operated a number of peanut shelling operations in the surrounding countryside, the largest of which was Parker Peanut Company. Over the years his Grandfather, Father and Uncle grew the operation to a successful enterprise. Through his life, this experience of witnessing a family business pass from 1st to 2nd to 3rd generations intact and then not make it to the 4th generation gives him a unique perspective when working with business owners helping them to design plans that assure that maximum value is achieved for their life's work. Upon graduating from Hampden Sydney College in 1989 with a BA in Economics, Gordon entered the financial services industry in 1990. Over the years he built a successful business that works with businesses providing them with estate planning, business succession planning, asset management* and employee benefit services. During these years, he became aware of the inconsistent plans that most business owners had in place. Often-times there was no plan at all or an uncoordinated plan at best. "It's not that these owners did not want to plan. They are so busy running their successful businesses and spending time with their families they were unable to get a truly coordinated plan in place." Thus the evolution of Heritage Business Strategies.

Gordon recognized the need in the marketplace for a truly unique financial services business. A business that is client centered and focused on the accomplishment of their goals and objectives both personal and business. To accomplish this, Gordon has developed resources through Eagle Strategies LLC, and The Nautilus Group, a service of New York Life Insurance Company. The Nautilus Group includes tax attorneys, CPA's actuaries, and financial analysts, working together with client advisors to help design programs responsive to the specific needs of his clients, while offering the highest level of confidentiality and service standards. Design leads to plan implementation - turning concept into action. And over time, the plan must be monitored for suitability and performance - defining our long-term view of client relationships. As an Investment Adviser for Eagle Strategies LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser, and a member agent of The Nautilus Group, a resource initiative of professionals from the legal, accounting and financial disciplines, Gordon works with successful business owners, executives, professionals and affluent families.

What separates Gordon from other financial advisers is not what he does but how he does it. He undertakes a role that is completely unique to the client. He provides access to resources unparalleled in their abilities both nationally and locally and finally his relationships are focused on commitment and responsiveness for each client.
